Finished with ash black paint and black cherry stain with designs depicting Norse art serpent heads carved and smoothed. Can be decorated by Celtic Braidwood such as the triquetra and intricate S square braiding. The name Snakepit Poetry inspired by the song by Einar selvik as well as the detailed looks of the frame such as the serpents, black cherry stain (cherries have pits) and the fact that music is a form of Poetry. The Lyre weighs roughly 3 lbs. and is the model soon to replace an older version in our shop. 24 inches long by 7 to 10 inches wide depending on available board width. The Curve of the head and end board a can also curved either in a downward round or an upward round depending on the grain and plank layout and size and may change accordingly to adjust for small imperfections in the wood to be corrected.
