D Irish Flute - 6-Key D Foot - Cocobolo Wood - Loud Powerful - Pratten Style

  • This Irish flute is based on the R. S. Pratten design with a large bore, enlarged tone holes, and a large embouchure hole. These features produce a powerful, full, and projecting tone, making the instrument well suited to outdoor performances, sessions, and other folk ensembles where strong projection is required.
  • Handcrafted from Cocobolo wood with polymer rings designed to resemble ivory. It is pitched at A=440–442 Hz (modern concert pitch) and carefully tuned for accurate intonation.
  • The headjoint is tunable with a brass slide and fixed stopper.
  • The middle joint is made as a single piece, unlike the two-part middle joint found on Rudall-style copies. It has five keys for C, Bb, G#, and short and long F. (You can have it with one or both F keys)
  • The D foot joint has an Eb key. The C foot joint has an Eb key and C# and C holes.
  • The keys are mounted on stays and fitted with steel springs and leather pads. The flute comes complete with a case.
